Notice on Preventing Illegal Employment for International Students
International students staying in the Republic of Korea (D-2 and D-4 visa holders) are allowed to engage in part-time work only after receiving prior approval from both their school and the Immigration Office. Unauthorized employment or violation of work permit conditions may result in disadvantages not only for the student but also for the school. Therefore, please make sure to comply with all related regulations.
○ Disadvantages of Illegal Employment
• Fines and penalties
• Restrictions or denial of visa extension
• Cancellation of part-time work permission
• Restrictions on changing visa status
• Cancellation of stay permit
• Possible deportation and re-entry restrictions
• Disadvantages for future stay and employment in Korea
